It has a characteristic fine-grained, matt, non-crystalline fracture; becomes soft and pliable when warmed by hand.  Relative density, about 0.96.

This wax is practically insoluble in water; partially soluble in hot ethanol (90%) and in ether; completely soluble in fatty and essential oils.

Being twice filtered, this beeswax contains the negligible amounts of natural impurities such as pollen, oils or propolis.

Yellow Beeswax BP/Ph.Eur. has many functions in hair and skin products: stabiliser, thickener, texturiser, humectant, emollient, protecting agent.  It is suitable for a whole range of skin and hair products from balms, ointments and salves to depilatories, creams, cleansers and lotion bars.

The pellets are with a fine-grained, matt, non-crystalline fracture; the wax becomes soft and pliable when warmed by hand. Odour, faint and characteristic of honey. Produced by our Mexican partner , this Candelilla Wax has been extracted using citric acid instead of sulfuric acid commonly used in most of the industry and processed according to Cosmos Organic standards.

Candelilla wax is derived from the leaves of the candelilla plant (Euphorbia antisyphilitica or Euphorbia cerifera), which is native to the Chihuahuan desert of Northern Mexico.

The Candelilla plant is cut or pulled out by the root, bundled up and taken to a collection centre where they are boiled up large vats of dilute citric acid.  The wax is separated and once cool, the crude candelilla wax is taken to the refinery to be melted, refined and bleached using only process aids that are compliant with the organic regulations.

All Candelilla wax is subject to CITES regulations due to previous over-harvesting.  Nowadays, with the right controls in place and a truly sustainable supply chain, Organic Candelilla Wax 6013 provides peace of mind for customers who want only the most ethically sourced Candelilla Wax.

Organic Candelilla Wax 6013 is naturally yellow in colour and brittle, making it a popular choice for organic coatings and glazes.  It also has excellent oil binding properties, meaning that it is an essential component of most organic lipstick formulations.

Rice Bran Wax is a by-product of rice bran oil production as it is winterised and extracted to improve the oil’s clarity.

Being a pale hard natural wax with excellent oil binding and thickening properties, Rice Bran wax finds itself in many formulations in the personal care and beauty industry as a cost effective alternative to carnauba, candelilla and sunflower wax, such as in skin and lip products, mascara and other colour cosmetics.

Other industrial and technical uses for Rice Bran Wax 6150 include its use as an oil gelling agent, polish and candle additive.
