Organic Candelilla 6013 is 100% certified organic to Cosmos Standard and ideal for organic personal care formulations.

Produced by our Mexican partner , this Candelilla Wax has been extracted using citric acid instead of sulfuric acid commonly used in most of the industry and processed according to Cosmos Organic standards.

Candelilla wax is derived from the leaves of the candelilla plant (Euphorbia antisyphilitica or Euphorbia cerifera), which is native to the Chihuahuan desert of Northern Mexico.

The Candelilla plant is cut or pulled out by the root, bundled up and taken to a collection centre where they are boiled up large vats of dilute citric acid.  The wax is separated and once cool, the crude candelilla wax is taken to the refinery to be melted, refined and bleached using only process aids that are compliant with the organic regulations.

All Candelilla wax is subject to CITES regulations due to previous over-harvesting.  Nowadays, with the right controls in place and a truly sustainable supply chain, Organic Candelilla Wax 6013 provides peace of mind for customers who want only the most ethically sourced Candelilla Wax.

Organic Candelilla Wax 6013 is naturally yellow in colour and brittle, making it a popular choice for organic coatings and glazes.  It also has excellent oil binding properties, meaning that it is an essential component of most organic lipstick formulations.

Also available non-organic Refined Candelilla Wax

6005 Organic Carnauba Wax Type 1, is a 100% natural Carnauba Wax certified Organic to Cosmos standards by The Soil Association.

Carnauba Wax is obtained from the leaves of the indigenous ‘Copernica Cerifera’ palm tree, which grows in northern Brazil.  The colour and quality of this product is determined by the age of the leaves and the process of extraction.   Only certain processes are allowed in order to comply with organic standards, such as steam extraction rather than hexane extraction, which is the common method of extracting Type 3 and 4 carnauba wax.

6005 Organic Carnauba Wax is light in colour, flake format and is used in food, pharma and cosmetic applications.

Carnauba wax has an outstanding hardness and abrasion resistance and is compatible with many other waxes. Carnauba Wax is considered the hardest of natural waxes and produces a durable film.

We also supply Types 1, 3 and 4 Carnauba Wax non organic, in flake and powder forms.

6004 Carnauba Wax Type 4 is darker in colour, suitable for mould releases, casting, polishes, coatings and other industrial applications.

Carnauba Wax is obtained from the leaves of the ‘Copernicia Cerifera’ palm tree. Colour and quality of this product are determined by the age of the leaves and the process of extraction.
Prime Yellow  (Type 1) is the first to be harvested followed by Type 4, harvested later in the season.

The Carnauba palm is indigenous to northern Brazil and can be found along riverbanks and streams. The tree expels wax through pores in the leaves; this maintains hydration in an equatorial climate.   Carnauba Wax is considered the hardest of natural waxes and produces a highly durable film.

We also supply Type 1, Type 4, and Type 1 Organic Carnauba Wax in flake format as well as Type 1 and Type 3 powder.

Please do contact us if you have any questions or if you prefer to discuss your requirements, please call us on 01737 761 242.
